CA (cyanoacrylate) Glue Warning

Date: December 16, 2003
Products: All

The use of CA glues (Cyanoacrylate) on or near your Novak Speed Controllers or Receivers can cause damage and subsequent premature failure of internal components. The glue itself, and the vapors given off by the glue, can make their way into the ESC or Receiver causing corrosion of the circuit board and components. Damage to a Novak product which is caused by the use of Cyanoacrylate glue (or any other glue) is not warrantable.

In addition to corrosion damage, gluing the ESC/Receiver to the vehicles chassis will transfer motor and wheel vibration from the chassis to the electronics and will also cause added shock to the electronics during a crash. The excess vibration or shock can cause glitching and damage to your electronics, especially in Receivers because of the fragile nature of the ceramic filters that are used.

When mounting the electronics in your vehicle, we strongly recommend that you use the double-sided foam tape that is provided. When properly used, this particular foam tape has good vibration damping properties and will hold your electronics securely in the vehicle during normal use.

Using CA or any similar glue on a Novak product can make that product non-serviceable and will void the products warranty.

The use of glue (CA or any other type) on any Novak product which causes damage or renders the product non-serviceable will void the products warranty.
