VTA Racing Comes to Northern California Poor weather conditions have kept many RC racers at home this winter. Luckily, the skies finally parted and the racers came out! SpeedWorld Raceway, a world-class facility that has hosted many top level events in Roseville, Ca., hosted its first VTA race of the year on Saturday, March 5. The SpeedWorld Qualifying Round started out with a dominating performance by Novak Team Driver Ed Whitecotton, who took all 3 qualifiers. The Main was run in standard qualifying format. At the start, a mistake in the first corner by Ed Whitecotton opened the door for Jay Cull to take off and stretch a healthy lead, leaving everyone else to sort it out. As the clock wore down, Ed was able to reel in Jay and some intense door-to-door racing began! Swapping positions several times within the same lap had the crowd on edge. At the end of the day some new rules were set to help level the field for all the competitors and make this a class for anyone to participate in.
